Career Opportunities
A career in aviation management offers excellent career prospects for young professionals in a wide range of roles. After graduation, you can join airlines, air cargo companies, airports or aircraft and component manufacturers. International aviation safety authorities or organisations such as the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) are also a great place for you to make your first steps in the aviation world. With an Aviation Management Bachelor, you can work as a:
Airline/Air Cargo Flight Operations Manager
As a flight operations manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring proper terminal operations, looking after staffing, protocol adherence and budget. Work on running flight operations as safely and efficiently as possible, and manage your staff so they’re up for the task. In addition, you’ll also be handling interactions between customers, airline/air cargo companies and employees, which will give you a chance to fully develop your management and conflict-resolution skills.
Ground Operations Manager
Ground operations managers lead teams and set priorities for the ramp, fleet, customer service and baggage handling operations – in short, all tasks related to ground operations for an airline or an airport. They develop strategies and work processes, trying to achieve and improve operational benchmarks. Their role is unique due to the extensive safety, regulatory and time constraint factors they have to work with, making them a vital element in the smooth running of flights everywhere.
Network Manager
Take charge of setting and maintaining flight schedules. Design route networks, so they are as profitable and efficient as possible; this requires that you stay up to date with international developments, and also that you use your business knowledge to identify developing market potential in advance. Assess and remove less successful flight connections, and continually work on ensuring a profitable network portfolio for your employers.
