PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree program prepares individuals for careers in management. More specifically, the MBA program is aimed to provide an opportunity for students to develop knowledge, abilities, attitudes, and understanding of key concepts and skills that will constitute a foundation for growth to be competent and successful managers and leaders in business and society. This foundation will provide the tools for graduates to seek management positions in various industries including Banking, Information Technology, Education, Manufacturing, Transportation, Communications, Construction, and Retail in the areas of Marketing, Strategy, Finance, Research, and/or Operations to transform new learning into higher earning potential.

Western National University’s Masters of Business Administration program seeks to develop persons who can function successfully in upper middle management and top management positions. The emphasis is on strategic management concepts and principles. The M.B.A. program makes use of recent research findings, uses complex computer models, stresses the importance of human relations skills, and integrates strategic management processes through an objective worldview.

The distance education format and lectures are conducted live and 100% online. Students may complete all coursework, reading, research and writing requirements through prescriptive independent study programs under faculty guidance and supervision.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Regular Degree Applicants ‐ an applicant with a Bachelor degree from a state-approved or regionally or nationally accredited institution.
  2. Transfer Applicants ‐ Applicants who have earned units from a graduate program in a related field from a state-approved or regionally or nationally accredited institution may transfer up to six (6) semester credits to Western National University College of Business subject to evaluation of grades and courses.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

To receive an MBA degree, students must complete at least 36-semester credits of graduate credit with a cumulative GPA of 3.0. A total of 6-semester credits of graduate work completed at another state-approved or regionally or nationally accredited institution may be applied to this degree.
