Introduction The Master in Techniques of Contemporary Music gives students the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of techniques for the creation and practice of new music. In addition to this, students will investigate the conceptual and theoretical frameworks that make this music possible. Even though there are three itineraries for specialization (composition, conducting and performance), the program emphasizes subjects common to all three thus favoring the dialogue between all branches and cross-disciplinary research. The result of this work will be seen in a common musical project with the participation of composers, conductors and performers. Objectives To give the necessary technical, theoretical and conceptual training for the performance, creation and conducting of new music. To study, assimilate and practice the techniques, languages and different notations derived from new music in the recent decades. To understand the different movements, aesthetics, and structural and discursive models from the second half of the XX century to the present day. To generate the necessary communication, debate and practice between all the agents involved in the creation of new music: composers, performers and conductors.
