The GSS Mission

The mission of the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service is to educate students to promote human rights and social justice. The school strives to improve the well-being of people and communities through teaching culturally responsive, evidence-informed practice and engaging in research, public advocacy, and community partnership.

Nationally Accredited Programs

Fordham GSS offers accredited B.S.W., M.S.W., and Ph.D. in Social Work programs by the Council on Social Work Education. Students are evaluated based on mastery of competencies aligned with accreditation standards. These competencies are essential dimensions expected of all social workers during their training. Assessment scores meeting or exceeding benchmarks indicate competency mastery. We regularly share assessment data with the Council to enhance and refine our program and learning environment.
