Introduction

Professionals who understand global agricultural and natural resources systems are in demand everywhere – in food and fiber industries, in schools and universities, and in government agencies.

A degree in agricultural education from N.C. A&T will prepare you for a rewarding career teaching and communicating about agrisciences to high school students, to agribusiness professionals and to the agricultural community.

The program offers two major concentrations, depending on your career goals:

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) - Agricultural Education (Agricultural Professional Service) - This curriculum is for students seeking careers in Cooperative Extension, governmental agencies, non-profit organizations, or in agribusiness and industry.

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) - Agricultural Education (Secondary Education) - The curriculum in secondary education is for students seeking careers teaching agriscience in middle and high schools. Graduates are eligible to apply for the agricultural education teaching license in North Carolina. Students majoring in this concentration will also have to be admitted to the College of Education’s Teacher Education Program at N.C. A&T, and must earn a minimum grade point average of 2.8, in addition to other program requirements. Please ask your advisor for more details and information about these requirements.
