Introduction

This program research should develop the topic of accounting from an historical perspective. The thesis shall explain the reasoning process that accountants use to interpret the effects of financial transactions on the income and financial position of a corporation or business. Students will learn about the balance sheet, the income statement and the accounting cycle; financial statements, working capital, inventory, fixed assets and depreciation, dividends and reserves, long-term debt as well as basic cost accounting, cost standards, consolidated statements and internal management accounting will be other key concepts to be fully understood.
