Geographical Information Systems – UNIGIS professional

UNIGIS Salzburg is part of the Department of Geoinformatics at the Paris Lodron University Salzburg. There, UNIGIS is responsible for the remote study programs UNIGIS MSc (CE) (2-year-program) and UNIGIS professional (1-year-program). As a founding member of the UNIGIS International Association, UNIGIS Salzburg has 30 years of experience in distance learning/teaching and counts 3000+ alumni. Aims and Benefits

UNIGIS professional imparts practice-oriented knowledge of geographic information systems and is aimed at anyone who needs a quick but comprehensive insight into the methodology and use of Geoinformatics. The course is offered as distance learning course for people who are already working and leads to the certificate/the professional title "Academic Geoinformatician". The course duration is one year, the weekly workload approx. 12-15 hours, depending on module content and personal prior knowledge. Time flexibility and personal support guarantee the compatibility of studies with work and family. In order to counteract time bottlenecks due to special workloads at work, the duration of the course can be extended individually and without additional costs up to a total of 18 months.
