E-Learning Center of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens
The Supplementary Distance Education Programme (E-Learning) of The Center of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in operation since 2001, provides distance education programmes that link theoretical and academic knowledge to the practical and applied skills required in their respective professional fields.
In the last 16 years, the E-Learning Programme has trained more than 45,000 people, in more than 250 different programmes covering a wide range of educational directions from archaeology and philosophy to economics. All new programmes are designed taking into account the knowledge and skills required in the labour market at a national and international level in order to create a dynamic and competitive professional profile.
The programmes are conducted solely via the Internet and are addressed to all age groups. From people who are just starting their professional career to those who already work as business managers or to those who have a strong interest in any of the offered fields.
Senior academics and experts of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens are participating as Academic Supervisors of the programmes.
The Scientific Supervisor of the E-Learning Programme of the Center of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is the Professor of Economics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Panagiotis E. Petrakis.
Aims of e-learning
The ultimate aim of our programmes is to meet the detected educational needs and provide the necessary complementary qualifications to people that wish to amplify their knowledge and gain new skills.
Credit points for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET) are awarded in most of the programmes, while graduates, in addition to the Certificate, also receive the Europass Diploma Supplement. The use of ECVET allows the recognition, transfer, and accumulation of credit points between programmes of different Educational Centers.
